The Public Safety Committee was established by First Selectman Walter Gawrych, to define areas of cooperation among Police, Fire and Civil Defense Departments.
The Committee includes the Chairman and one member each from the Police and Fire Commission, the Civil Defense Director, the First Selectman, and one representative from the general public.
The Committee addresses itself to deconflicting the Town’s emergency dispatching and communications, publicizing the Emergency Telephone Number (911), and promoting clear numbering of all residential and commercial buildings.
