•Quality of Life

It doesn't matter what you like to do in your spare time, North Haven and the Greater New Haven region has it! Sports venues, ice skating, museums, restaurants, Summer Concerts, and shops abound, not just in North Haven, but in New Haven and its surrounding towns.

The town of North Haven has an 8 lane, 25-yard, multi-use, indoor community pool (The Walter J. Gawrych Community Pool) that has two 1-meter diving boards and is accessible to those with special needs and disabilities.
Additionally North Haven offers recreational programs for all ages, including summer camps for the youth.  We have youth organizations such as Hamden-North Haven Swim Club, Max Sinoway Baseball League, North Haven Soccer Club, North Haven Girls' Softball, North Haven Youth Football, North Haven Lacrosse Club, North Haven Youth Basketball,  and Athletic fields and complexes. And, Adult Education classes are offered during the Fall and Spring Semesters.

If you like to eat and/or shop... North Haven is the place for you.  We have a variety of ethnic restaurants as well as the popular chain restaurants.  You can shop in our large retail area on Universal Drive, or shop some of our smaller "boutique" shops on Washington Avenue and other parts of town.

The Greater New Haven region has all the elements that contribute to an overall quality of life that can be described as nothing short of excellent. With its mix of urban, suburban and rural areas, Greater New Haven has something for everyone. Each of the 15 towns in this region prides itself on quality schools, clean and inviting town centers, and amenities to satisfy every interest. Nestled among the hilltops of Sleeping Giant and the gentle waves of Long Island Sound, North Haven is an ideal place to visit and call home.
