Town of North Haven MS4 2023 Annual Stormwater Report to be Available for Public Review and Comment on February 15, 2024
As required by the United States Environmental Protection Agency’s (USEPA’s) and the State of Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (CT DEEP), on or before February 15, 2024, the Town of North Haven is required to prepare its DRAFT Small Municipal Separate Storm Sewer Systems (known as MS4) 2023 Annual Stormwater Report. The purpose of providing the DRAFT MS4 2023 Annual Stormwater Report is to educate the public as to the importance of protecting stormwater, eliminating pollutant (bacteria, nitrogen and phosphorus) discharges and improving the overall quality of the State’s and Town’s waterbodies and receiving streams.
North Haven renewed its General Permit Registration with CT DEEP on March 31, 2017.
Additionally, in compliance with the USEPA and CT DEEP requirements, the Town of North Haven developed a revised draft MS4 Stormwater Management Plan and like the General Permit Registration, filed the plan with the CT DEEP. The Plan is available on the Town’s website at http://www.northhaven-ct.gov/document_center/PublicWorks/FINALNorthHavenStormwaterManagementPlan2017_03_30.pdf.
Per the USEPA and CT DEEP, the Town of North Haven hereby makes its DRAFT MS4 2023 Annual Stormwater Report available for public review and comment for thirty (30) days following its posting on the Town’s website under the Department of Public Works, Stormwater Section on February 15, 2024.
The Final MS4 2023 Annual Stormwater Report is due on or before April 1, 2024, to the CT DEEP.
Copies of the DRAFT MS4 2023 Annual Stormwater Report are available at the Town of North Haven’s Department of Public Works, Town Hall Annex Building, 5 Linsley Street, North Haven, Connecticut,06473 for public inspection and review consistent with the federal and state Freedom of Information Acts. Members of the public may review the DRAFT Report and submit written comments to the Director, Department of Public Works, Town Hall Annex, 5 Linsley Street, North Haven, Connecticut 06473 or via electronic mail message to sadosky.lynn@northhaven-ct.gov .
